We're changing that story. Through full scholarships to intensive tech bootcamps, we're giving Indonesia's most talented low-income individuals the one thing they've been missing: a real chance.
IBM SkillsBuild x Hacktiv8: Accelerating Indonesia’s Digital Talent Through AI & Data Upskilling
IBM SkillsBuild, in collaboration with Hacktiv8, launched a nationwide hybrid learning initiative to equip over 11,000 students and educators with industry-ready skills in AI, data analytics, and software development. Through structured training, live mentoring, and portfolio-based capstone projects, the program helped bridge the gap between academia and industry needs while empowering more inclusive digital talent development.

When I joined Hacktiv8's scholarship program with ZakatLoop, everything changed. Through structured training and mentorship, I learned programming and built real projects.
The result? Shortly after graduating, I secured a tech job that dramatically increased my family's income and brought stability I never imagined possible.
I never thought someone like me could work in tech. This program didn't just teach me to code, it changed my family's entire future.
I hope this class inspires them to keep learning, stay updated with new technologies like AI, and continue exploring the world of programming. With their exposure to IBM’s AI tools and practical workflows, they now have a solid foundation to think creatively, build smarter solutions, and face future tech challenges.
I believe this will be a strong first step that empowers them to innovate and contribute to the future of technology.
This scholarship transformed me, giving me hope, skills, and the mindset to grow in tech. I used to feel like I couldn’t give anything back to my parents, but graduating from this bootcamp changed that. Now I can work, support my family, and offer them something they’ve always deserved.
This experience has become a turning point in my life and motivates me to keep learning and building a better future.I gained a lot from the Student Developer Initiative training. It broadened my perspective, and the material was very relevant to both the latest AI developments and what we’re learning in our faculty.
I also learned that IBM provides AI tools that make programming, especially coding much easier.I believe the challenges in today’s AI era are already clear. We can’t just focus on implementing AI in our programming; we also need to understand how to use the technology effectively.
It’s not only about applying AI, but also about how it can actively support us in writing code. This is a real advantage of IBM’s tools, allowing us to make the most of AI in our work.
